WILMINGTON, Del., Nov. 28 (HealthDay News) -- A man has been arrested for masturbating while being sexually excited for the first time in two decades.
In the early morning hours of Monday, the man, John Lee, 45, of San Vicente, was being treated for his prostate cancer, his physician said.
The man's wife, Sarah, said the man did not have any symptoms of the cancer.
"He had nothing to eat," her husband, Kevin, told the station.
His first sexual experience occurred when he was 18 years old. He has been married for more than 30 years, and his wife, who is his sister, has been pregnant for only a few months.
"I can't recall anything I've done that would cause a man to stop using his penis and start masturbating," Kevin said.
The man faces a three-year prison sentence for the offence, which is being prosecuted by U. S. District Judge Michael J. Stevens.
"The judge was very concerned about this," Kevin said. "The man's wife, who has been pregnant for a few months, told me the doctor prescribed Viagra to her. She said that was the reason the man started taking it."
A federal prosecutor said the man did not know the doctor prescribed Viagra for his wife, and was concerned that Viagra might be linked to his prostate cancer.
"The defendant would be able to use his penis and not be able to have sex with another person," the prosecutor said.
Kevin said the man is facing "great bodily harm" and he is being held at his home for questioning.
"It's very concerning," he said. "I'm concerned that this would be in a defendant's best interest."
The man faces a three-year prison sentence and the woman's lawyer said the woman's husband has been held at her home for questioning. Kevin said he and the woman were in a relationship that has lasted for more than two years.
"It's very disturbing that this is the first time someone has been treated for a prostate cancer for two decades and I'm sure we'll continue to work together to try to work things out with the defendant," Kevin said.
